High-tech microfibre has become popular for bedlinen as it offers so many benefits, not least of which are its easycare properties. It washes efficiently at low temperature, drip-dries quickly and needs little or no ironing. The polyester microfibre yarns are microscopically fine, one-hundredth the diameter of a human hair. As a result it is incredibly soft to the touch and can be woven very tightly, which is one reason it stays crease-free.
