Respiratory Conditions

Salt of the earth

Halotherapy (derived from the Greek halos meaning salt) uses the inhalation of micro-particles of dry salt to relieve respiratory conditions. This traditional therapy has been practised in the salt 'caves' of Eastern and Central Europe for over 150 years. The benefits of breathing in the unique microclimate found in salt mines are highly regarded in these regions, and many health sanatoriums there specialise in providing halotherapy.

Most drug-based therapies of respiratory diseases have only palliative effects and many also have significant side-effects, especially those using corticoids. Halotherapy is a natural alternative, non-invasive, drug-free and with no known side-effects - and, as proved by numerous clinical studies, it can lead to really beneficial results in the treatment and control of respiratory diseases.
